BIO

I've been a librarian since 2003.  The best thing about being a librarian is helping people achieve their goals.  I specialize in helping people learn how to find and select information on any topic.  I also have experience developing online tests to help librarians and professors learn more about what students know about information, research, and avoiding plagiarism.  When I'm not working, I drum in a punk band with my husband and friends.  Some of my favorite bands are Gaunt, The Left, Dead Milkmen, The Minutemen, and The Meters.

Classes I Teach

I am one of the librarians who give feedback on the Library Orientation and Avoiding Plagiarism Tutorials.  Right now, I do not teach any classes at Coastline.  At Palomar College, I teach two classes in the Library and Information Technology program for students who want to work in libraries.  I teach a class about library public services and I teach a class called Informed Learning and Research Skills.

Education

In 2012, I earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Cal State Fullerton.  Here is the dissertation I wrote for that degree: Paradoxes and Play: An Emergent Theory of How Community College Librarians Sustain Library Instruction Programs

Earlier, I earned my Masters of Library and Information Science from UCLA in 2003 and my Bachelor's of Arts in Literature/Writing from UCSD in 2000.
