STUDENT LEARNING CONTRACT
Agreement 1
I will review and read the entire course's website and Syllabus no later than 11:59 p.m. end of course’s first (1st) week for the 8-week course, or no later than 11:59 p.m. end of course’s second (2nd) week for the 16-week course. I will complete and submit the course’s Student Learning Contract no later than 11:59 p.m. end of course’s first (1st) week for the 8-week course, or no later than 11:59 p.m. end of course’s second (2nd) week for the 16-week course. I understand that if I do not submit the course’s Student Learning Contract by the aforementioned respective Due Date I will not be allowed to continue in the course. I understand that if I do not submit the course’s Student Learning Contract by 11:59 p.m. end of course’s first (1st) week for the 8-week course, or no later than 11:59 p.m. end of course’s second (2nd) week for the 16-week course, I will be dropped from the course by the course’s Instructor. I understand that if I do not weekly participate in and complete all of the required course assignments-activities of any single week, I may be dropped from the course by the course’s Instructor.
Agreement 2
I understand that when communicating with my Instructor, I will follow the guidelines as set forth in the course's Syllabus-To contact the Instructor/Office Hours: On-line/per e-mail.

I understand I will correspond with my Instructor using ONLY the Instructor's aforementioned e-mail address. I further understand I will correspond with my Instructor using ONLY the e-mail address provided to me by Coastline Community College.
Agreement 3
I will periodically review the course Web site and Course Information/Syllabus to understand the course requirements and expectations including any minimum equipment/software needed to access my course online. I understand internet connectivity problems for this course on my end are exclusively my responsibility. I understand the instructor of this course has no control over CANVAS. I understand the instructor of this course only has control over the course’s content. I understand the course's Web site and Course Information/Syllabus may be updated throughout the course.
Agreement 4
I will completely familiarize myself with CANVAS and the entire course's website before I engage in ANY course activity, assignment, or work. I will complete all course Assignments/Activities/Course Work by the Assignments/Activities/Course Work Due Dates and within the time allotted to complete the Assignment's/Activity's/Course Work. I understand there are no previews, reviews, or retakes on any course assignments/activities. I understand I will not receive ANY credit for late, incomplete, and/or missed Assignments/Activities/Course Work. I understand the course does not offer, consider, or accept any extra credit assignments/work.
Agreement 5
I understand I am responsible to complete OR officially withdraw from the course. I understand that if for some reason(s) I am no longer interested in the course and/or I have not kept up with course Assignments/Activities and/or I am not satisfied with my performance in the course, it is my responsibility to inform Coastline's Admissions and Records and file with Coastline's Admissions and Records an official drop request prior to the course's final withdrawal date to avoid receiving a failing grade in the course.
Agreement 6
I understand there are two required textbooks (course materials) for the course and I must purchase the two required textbooks before the beginning of the course, and no later than the course's first week, so that I do not get behind in the course.
Agreement 7
I understand I must complete and submit all required course work by the respective Due Date(s) to complete the course. I understand that any course work I submit shall be exclusively my work and my words alone (except the properly cited work of another). I understand plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the taking or paraphrasing of an idea, opinion, theory, spoken or written word, of another, and passing it off as my own. I understand I must properly credit any and all sources I utilize on any course assignment/activity. I understand I will not receive any credit (partial and/or full) on any coursework I submit containing any work that is not mine, nor will credit be given to me for any work I submit in this current course that I and/or another submitted in any other course, including any current and/or past course presented by this course's instructor. I understand I will not receive ANY credit for ANY Assignments/Activities/Course Work and/or segments thereof sent to the instructor of this course through ANY e-mail and/or an attachment thereof.

I understand that if I have a verifiable disability, e.g. physical, communication, learning, acquired brain injury, psychological, or other disability and I am requesting an accommodation, it is my sole responsibility to make such a request by contacting Special Programs and Services for the Disabled at (714) 241-6214 ext. 17217.
Agreement 9
I understand that the student code of conduct prohibits various acts such as cheating, plagiarism, self plagiarism, abusive language and other prohibited actions. I understand that violations of this code will result in disciplinary action in regard to this course and/or college enrollment. I understand that I am responsible for reading, understanding, and abiding by the Coastline Community College Academic Honesty Policy. Agreement 10
I understand that this Political Science 180 course satisfies the state and local government requirement for political science or history for the California State University degree. I understand a passing grade is transferable.
